I love helping people. It's the best feeling when you get to tell someone they were approved for the home they want. Part of my job is to provide information about our properties and the community to prospective residents. I am responsible for advertising our homes through a variety of media channels and promotional materials. You can find all the details of our rentals through our website. When you're ready call me, I have a flexible schedule and I even work weekends.

I went to college in Nashville for interior design, I enjoyed staging homes that were for sale or ready to lease. However, I found what I liked most was touring the properties so I decided to get my real estate license. I started working in new home sales but it wasn't fulfilling. I really was obsessed with the historic homes. As a Leasing Manager I get to show all the different types of homes that are in Charles Town and Martinsburg and surrounding areas.

I am a local, born and raised in Jefferson County. I am currently a member of the Eastern Panhandle Board of Realtors, actively participate in chamber events and volunteer in my spare time. I have one daughter who is a very busy toddler so "spare time" is a real commodity. She is my entire world and keeps me focused on what really matters. I enjoy the outdoors - hiking, shooting, sightseeing basically anything that gets me out and enjoying all that the Eastern Panhandle has to offer. Community and family are very important to me.

Working at Blackwell Property Management has been rewarding. It's the first time in my professional career that I can be myself. They give me the tools I need to be successful, don't micromanage me but encourage me every step of the way. It's incredible. We have a sign in the office that says: "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life". That was never true for me that is until now.

G'day mates!

As a non-native to West Virginia, I found myself here around four years ago. I moved here from the (third) most isolated city in the world, have lived in NYC and Boston, travelled to every continent except Antarctica, and have a very long 'to-go' list that I try my hardest to work on every year. That all being said, I am happy to call this area home.

Prior to working at Blackwell, I worked for a local distillery - and as a result, fell in love with everything the eastern panhandle has to offer. It is such an exciting thing to be so close to two huge cities, yet far enough away to enjoy rafting, hiking, cows living across the road and all that lies between.

My whole career has always been in customer-facing: I've been a teacher, a tasting-room manager, an office manager, in fact, I think the only job I've had where I didn't have to be face-to-face or phone-to-phone with people was a short stint I did working in a morgue in New York City. Now I find myself in a whole new career, which is very exciting - I love coming to work and finding solutions to problems, working with wonderful people and learning about this industry.

When not at work, I consider myself a bit of a foodie, cocktail enthusiast, gym and film junkie. I generally have three books on the go at any one time, and re-read 'Jane Eyre' by Charlotte Bronte every year.

I love that Blackwell is different. After walking in the door for the first time I got sucked in and never looked back.

Previously, I had worked as a bank teller, a credit union contact center service representative and a financial aid representative at a local college. Although those jobs had high demands for learning the skill of customer service, the credit union prepared me for this job the most. With extensive customer service training and incredibly high importance placed on accuracy and outstanding interpersonal communication, I have learned the skill with some of the best professionals in the industry.

Being an Account Manager with Blackwell means that each day can be a little different. Some of my time I am helping our clients with their accounting but some days I could be acting like a therapist. I try to protect our clients' investments in the most efficient manner possible while maintaining a relationship with all parties involved.

I have an incredible husband who owns a local business and who is also involved in our community. Our little boy is now almost three years old, is pretty much the greatest human being on earth. I am head over heels for this little boy and he makes even the hardest, longest of days a little brighter. I serve on the worship and tech team at a local church. I participate in local events that Blackwell Property Management get involved in as well.

I found my first "real" job in America a few months after arriving here in 2003. I was a Leasing Consultant for a very large apartment community in Northwest Washington DC. I fell in love with the industry immediately. Nothing similar existed at home at the time. Within a year I was the top leasing consultant in the entire company. I spent the next several years learning the industry and working my way up the corporate ladder. Ultimately managing thousands of luxury apartments in the greater DC area before opening Blackwell in 2011.

Blackwell has developed in to the largest property management company in our area and I am the owner and principal broker for us in West Virginia and Virginia.

I am married to Jenn, an Air Force emergency manager. I have three children. Liam who is 10 and 17 year old twins Gavin and Evie. I love to travel and do it a lot. I love to encourage my team to travel both with me for work and for themselves. I love being active. I taught myself guitar and love singing traditional Irish ballads. I also fly as a hobby.
